About the event
Aviators for Autism invites youth ages 10 and up to participate in a hands-on drone workshop that introduces the fundamentals of flight, coding, and real-world drone applications.
This workshop is adapted from a proven educational model offered by the Cradle of Aviation Museum and has been aligned with Aviators for Autism’s mission to expose, educate, and empower neurodiverse individuals and their families through aviation. The program welcomes individuals across the autism spectrum for exposure and respite. The core focus is on participants who can engage in structured, guided instruction and hands-on learning.
Participants will learn basic aerodynamics, explore block-based coding, and prepare for supervised flight practice. The experience concludes with obstacle-course style flying and an overview of how drones are used in industries such as aviation, emergency response, engineering, agriculture, and media.
